Racional:Male Sculpture with ‘Brain Genitalia’ by Cuban Artist Yoan Capote
Yoan Capote is a wonderful and very smart sculptor hailing from Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Majority of Capote’s work speaks on a broad myriad of social issues from sexuality, prostitution, environmental issues, and many more. I definitely encourage everyone to check out Capote’s website to read up on his artist statements and write-ups for each piece.
A couple of very affectionate cows from the farm by my hiking trail yesterday. The guy-cow seemed happy to go on, but the lady-cow looked unamused by the audience of hikers.
Edible Art (by Love Limzy)
He lay quite still, and strange as dreaming
was that calm brow of one who swooned.
Shot through below the chest — and streaming
the blood came smoking from the wound.
A moment earlier, inspiration
had filled this heart, and detestation
and hope and passion; life had glowed
and blood had bubbled as it flowed;
but now the mansion is forsaken;
shutters are up, and all is pale
and still within, behind the veil
of chalk the window-panes have taken.
The lady of the house has fled.
Where to, God knows. The trail is dead.
